Over the past week we’ve seen OSR prices rally. New United Oilseeds Commodity Trading Manager Nick Hobson commented:
“The current yield concerns in France and Eastern Europe alongside firmer energy markets, particularly crude oil are having a positive impact on UK OSR prices, meaning we’re just about back at £400 Ex Farm for new crop.”
Predictions for EU OSR harvest now stand at or below 17 Million tonnes compared to 20 Million tonnes for the previous year.
With many farmers holding out for the £400 mark, we recommend speaking with your Area Manager as soon as possible if you are looking to take action.
