United Oilseeds, the independent farmers' co-operative, is donating to two charities this Christmas: Julias' House Children's hospices and the Somerset Road Education Trust's Exeter Special School.
Julia's House provides care for children with life-limiting and life-shortening conditions wherever and whenever it is needed – in its hospices, at home and out in the community.
Julia's House service is totally flexible and bespoke for its families – it is also completely free.
Every family receives an allocation of care hours for their child, not a fixed timetable of sessions. Parents are free to ‘spend’ these hours in any way they want – a few hours every week, regular days, or just now and again. By giving families choice Julia's House provoides a service that truly works for them.
Life-threatening situations can happen without warning, but imagine the reassurance of having access to specialist care, to know your child is in safe, skilled hands. Giving parents the confidence to take a mental and physical break from the exhausting cycle of care is what Julia's House does.
Exeter House School is a mixed special school in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England.
The school educates children with severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties. These difficulties may be caused by autism spectrum disorders and other communication and language problems.
Exeter House School is part of the Somerset Road Education Trust which is a multi-academy trust.
The School believes that sustainable learning can occur only when there is meaningful engagement. The process of engagement is a journey which connects a child and their environment (including people, ideas, materials and concepts) to enable learning and achievement to take place. Every child is individual and every child is unique.
United Oilseeds is delighted to help support these two organisations.
